One by One
Foo Fighters
I don't exactly have my finger on the pulse of what mainstream America is listening to anymore, but from what I can tell One by One has gotten a somewhat lukewarm reception. Which is interesting, because it really hooked me in a way that hasn't happened with the Foos since their debut album. I would even venture to say this is their best album yet. Dave Grohl et al. rock out, and hard, on tracks like "All My Life" and "Times Like These." The latter is a classic Foo Fighters tune, combining a poignant feel in the lyrics with an edgier undercurrent. "Lonely as You" is constructed in a similarly perfect manner. This is slick stuff, and I love it.
