My Aim Is True
Elvis Costello
Costello's debut album, first released when I was a little over 1 year old. I do seem to be listening to a lot of the classics these days, my version of classic rock being new wave and British punk. From the wistfulness of "Alison" to the perky resignation of "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes," from the irresistible "Less Than Zero" to the vaguely ominous "Watching the Detectives," Costello injects his tunes with plenty of wit and irony. And 25 years later he gets a cameo on The Simpsons.
